In order to back up a funding bid for electric vehicle (EV) chargers, Electric Blue worked in partnership with Fylde Council to provide our EVolve fleet analysis service. As part of a consortium led by Lancaster City Council, Fylde recruited Electric Blue expertise to collate driver data and create a representative heat-map, demonstrating the prime locations for EV charger installation.

Fylde Borough Council were incredibly pleased with the project, and feel the resulting heat map is an effective tool to be used in the planning of the installation of rapid chargers. The heat map has accurately provided evidence of a number of sites that could potentially be used to install a rapid charger. These sites give the local authority a choice as to the placement of the charger, ensuring maximum usage, with minimal disruption to the drivers during their working day.

As poor air quality affects all busy urban centres, local taxi fleets play a key role in the cleaning up of our air. With this in mind, this EVolve project worked alongside local taxi partners, Whiteside Taxis and Kirkham Macs/Fylde Executive Cars, who were all delighted to take part and demonstrate their commitment to improving air quality.

Daniel Whiteside, Managing Director of Whiteside Taxis praised the project saying;

“It was a pleasure to work with Electric Blue and the Fylde Borough Licensing Team and to help them collate data of driver behaviour, which will assist them in the planning of their future EV strategy. Hopefully we will see EV charging points in key sites around the local area in the coming months.”

We are delighted that Whiteside Taxis will be installing their own EV chargers, once they begin the conversion of their fleet to EVs, and we look forward to continuing our partnership on their journey to electric. All Electric Blue chargers are supplied by 100% renewable energy, thanks to our partners.

Electric Blue’s David Gee says, “Electric Blue are thrilled to work in partnership with Fylde Council on their EVolve project. As more local authorities are taking up the challenge of improving air quality, we are proud to be able to support their journeys, and are excited to see the number of EV ambassadors grow! We would like to thank Whiteside Taxis and Kirkham Macs/Fylde Executive Cars who helped make this happen.”
